A reminder to those who went for the health trooper badge last friday, you have to pay for the course, so please remember to bring $1.50 on friday. Also, you will be taking your health trooper badge test during training. Please prepare for it.

Dear Guides,
We have been invited by the official organizer of the Community Chest ComChest Heartstrings Walk 2011 @ Marina Bay Sands to volunteer as crowd marshals. This is a charity event opened to the public where the proceeds of the registration fees go to Community Chest's beneficiaries.
The organiser would need approximately 100 Girl Guides to be volunteers in this event. In return, Community Chest will acknowledge your involvement through distribution of CIP hours.

Dear Guides and Sec1s,

For Sec1s, fall in with your seniors at 2.30pm sharp outside Guides room in your pe attire. Please remember to bring eveything you bought last Friday as well as your dust cover and rotatable hanger.
Just to inform all of you, Sec1s will be having their enrolment ceremony during training. Sec1s, you are thus reminded again to memorise the Guides promise, the 10 Guides laws, as well as read through how the enrolment ceremony is carried out.

Apart from the uniform, you will have to get these things as well.
1. Uniform Protector which has a zip in the midddle(any colour is fine), along with a rotatable hanger.
2. Brasso, which will be used to polich your trefoil. It looks like this.
3. Kiwi, which will be used to polish your boots. Although you all are not getting your boots that soon, it is still advisable that you buy it first. It looks like this.

Dear Guides,
We have been invited to participate in the National Day Parade 2011, which will be held at the floating platform. This year, the Girl Guides contingent would have only 49 girls. Hence, only 80 Guides will be recruited, 10 from each school. Like previous years, there will be a few internal trainings and selection to select 49 Guides and a few reserves to form the Girl Guides contingent. Guides who wish to be selected for the contingent
must attend
all the internal trainings. To be selected, you must meet the criteria listed below.
1. Secondary 2 & 3 Guides ONLY (Guides from Secondary 1 & 4 will not be accepted).
2. Singaporeans or PR
3. Minimum height 1.60 m (as set by the organiser, but per past years experience, those who were slightly shorter were also selected.)
4. Have basic knowledge of foot drill
5. Not suffering from the following illnesses – asthma, vertigo, angina, gastritis, allergic to heat and perspiration (rashes), not able to stand in the sun for more than 20 minutes, weak ankles, etc.
6. Guides who are severely overweight (>130%) or severely underweight (<70%) should seek medical approval before participating.
7. Participants MUST be able to attend at least 90% of the training sessions.
8. Guides who need to be away for vacation or camps during the June school holiday are advised not to participate.

Sec1s, you are reminded to bring the money for purchasing your uniform. Please also remember to bring along your bus card as transport is not provided.
